CHETANA  NAGAVAJARA, Emeritus Professor of German atSilpakornUniversity, has had a lifelong interest in criticism both from the practical and theoretical point of view. In 1999 he initiated the research project, “Criticism as an Intellectual Force in Contemporary Society”, which he led until 2005. Three younger colleagues have consecutively continued to direct the research on criticism up to the present. Prof. Nagavajara has remained Adviser to the research project and regularly publishes critical reviews as well as scholarly articles that bear directly or indirectly on the theme of the research project. The papers presented here are his recent contributions given at various international meetings.
